Dear Editor: I watched our president on television, and he acts like the war in Iraq is a game he is playing. Can you imagine President Roosevelt during World War II calling the Emperor of Japan and telling him that we are going to surge you at 8 a.m. two weeks from today. I’ll bet everyone in Japan would have run and hid, saying the United States is going to surge us.
No, they would not run and hide, they would do like they are doing in Iraq. They would be preparing for a so-called surge and thank our president and news reporters for letting them know ahead of time. That is like a burglar calling and telling you that he is going to rob your house at 9 tonight. Are you going to run and hide or are you going to be prepared for him?
Can you picture Gen. [Douglas] McArthur telling his staff to call ahead and tell the enemy that we are going to surge them today? His men would have laughed him out of the Army.
Our Congress and Senate should vote to impeach President Bush before another man is killed and before we are at war with every country in the eastern hemisphere.
