Impeach for Peace members joined other campers
at the Project Earth event in late June. Nestled along the banks
of Lake Geneva, the camp was hosted by Wookie Foot, a musical group
that has fund-raised to build schools in Africa.
The most recent camp was a fund-raiser for books and supplies for
the schools. Impeach for Peace and other peace groups hosted tables
and offered information and flyers; at other tables, campers sold
their homemade wares. Many came for the camaraderie and the daily
music events.
Impeach for Peace had numerous people sign its contact sheet, and
our table was nearby Veterans for Peace and Wamm volunteers. The
people who came to our table were supportive of our group, since
this event was primarily attended by individuals who promote peace.
A couple of food tents were available, as well as a community kitchen
where everyone shared their food.
Like other summer tabling events, this gathering was helpful in
getting the word out about our group and drawing in supporters.
"I just want you to know that, when we talk about
war, we're really talking about peace."
