Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-OH) has announced that he will hold a new conference on introducing Articles of Impeachment against Vice President Richard Cheney at 5 PM today. The announcement came after Kucinich delayed the move, originally scheduled for noon today, on account of the Vice President’s hospital visit this morning.<\/p>\n

It’s time now for us to follow through by asking the rest of Congress to get on board with the American public, and by letting the media know where we stand.<\/p>\n

it just so happens that Impeach for Peace has recently met with Rep.
\nKeith Ellison of the Judiciary Committee.

Rep. Ellison was kind enough to give us some advice as to how to pressure
\nthat committee to act on impeachment. He reccomended which members of the
\nJudiciary could use some encouragement. So, we’ve adjusted our
\nDo-It-Yourself Impeachment<\/a> (which has apparently been wildly successful in
\nhelping Kucinich), and have refocused it to impeach Cheney, as well as
\ndirecting it to the members of the Judiciary recommended by Ellison.<\/p>\n

So, it’s our turn again to help this process along. Let’s innundate these
\nmembers of the Judiciary with a document that actually initiates
\nimpeachment via the House of Representative’s own rules. This legal
\ndocument is as binding as if a State or if the House itself passed the
\nimpeachment resolution. This document is based on one which was
\nsuccessful in impeaching a federal official in the past. You can find it on
\nIfP’s website as a PDF<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Kucinich says he needs us to keep building the groundswell of support for
\nimpeachment all over the country. He said he felt that our framing the
\nissue of impeachment in terms of the Constitution is a principled choice,
\nand ultimately more effective than just acting on anger.<\/p>\n
