\n WASHINGTON — Rep. Dennis Kucinich, a candidate for president, introduced articles of impeachment against Vice President Dick Cheney to the House Judiciary Committee on Tuesday.
\n Under the House impeachment process, Kucinich’s articles would be reviewed by the committee, which would decide whether to conduct an impeachment inquiry. The committee would seek authority from the entire House before beginning an inquiry.<\/p>\n

it just so happens that Impeach for Peace has recently met with Rep.
\n Keith Ellison of the Judiciary Committee.

Rep. Ellison was kind enough to give us some advice as to how to pressure
\n that committee to act on impeachment. He reccomended which members of the
\n Judiciary could use some encouragement. So, we’ve adjusted our
\n Do-It-Yourself Impeachment<\/a> (which has apparently been wildly successful in
\n helping Kucinich), and have refocused it to impeach Cheney, as well as
\n directing it to the members of the Judiciary recommended by Ellison.<\/p>\n

So, it’s our turn again to help this process along. Let’s innundate these
\n members of the Judiciary with a document that actually initiates
\n impeachment via the House of Representative’s own rules. This legal
\n document is as binding as if a State or if the House itself passed the
\n impeachment resolution. This document is based on one which was
\n successful in impeaching a federal official in the past. You can find it on
\n IfP’s website as a PDF<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Kucinich says he needs us to keep building the groundswell of support for
\n impeachment all over the country. He said he felt that our framing the
\n issue of impeachment in terms of the Constitution is a principled choice,
\n and ultimately more effective than just acting on anger.<\/p>\n
