Federal officers are in a position to abuse the public trust, and so the founders ensured that federal officers could be held accountable by putting impeachment in the Constitution. Here at We Impeach, we believe it is important to remind these public officials that the threat of impeachment is real, and that they will be held accountable should they abuse their power.<\/p>\n

We promote the use of a procedure in the House of Representatives where citizens can initiate impeachment of federal officials. This process has been used to successfully impeach a federal judge in Missouri. The U.S. Constitution stipulates that the impeachment process applies to “The President, Vice President, and all civil officers of the United States.” Indeed, this includes Herbert McMaster.<\/p>\n
