\"newyorkithacalg.jpg\"TheIthacaJournal — Over an hour of public comment on the issue of investigating the possible impeachment of President Bush led to a long meeting of the City of Ithaca’s Common Council that was not adjourned by 11:45 p.m.<\/p>\n

All of the public comment took the first two-and-a-half hours of Wednesday’s meeting. Common Council then debated the issue of whether to approve the resolution asking Congress to set up a committee to investigate possible impeachment. The measure passed 8-2 with Mary Tomlan, D-3rd, and Joel Zumoff, D-3rd, voting against.<\/p>\n

Both Tomlan and Zumoff made statements clarifying that their dissent was not because they supported Bush’s actions, particularly the invasion of Iraq, but because of issues with the resolution. (More)
