At confirmation hearings set to begin Wednesday, they plan to press the retired federal judge about the Bush administration&#8217;s terrorist detention policy.<\/p>\n<p>The committee chairman, Sen. Patrick Leahy, long has criticized the government&#8217;s use of the warrants.
