ToledoBlade.com — Why are our senators in Congress so fearful? Why are our representatives in Washington so reluctant to take on Vice President Dick Cheney and his tactics to change constitutional law? There is so much evidence to impeach both Mr. Cheney and President Bush for their fanatical pursuit of unlimited executive powers.
\nCongress should have begun impeachment proceedings months ago when it was evident that, step-by-step, Mr. Cheney was assuring himself that no one was going to stand in the way of presidential decision-making. Cheney\/Bush have completely disregarded the principle upon which our forefathers set up a government of checks and balances. Their flagrant disregard of constitutional law and international law has shown us and the world that America has lost its moral sense of right and wrong – witness Abu Ghraib, Guantanamo, the war in Iraq, the refusal to sit at a table with “enemies,” the turmoil in the Office of the Legal Counsel, the scandals in the Justice Department, and more.<\/p>\n
