The Daily Clog — <\/a>On Sunday, the Clog was lucky enough to stumble upon a merry group of three carolers on the steps of Sproul Hall. Armed with Santa hats, navy blue blazers and sassy, brass instruments, UC Berkeley undergrads Lenny, Lou and David brought smiles to the faces of many passers-by with their energetically belted renditions of holiday classics.<\/p>\n

Despite garnering plenty of friendly remarks — including the giggly, monetary approval of passing tween girls and their mothers — the three still weren’t up to par with some Berkeley citizens’ standards. One individual in particular was a fat man on a bike, whose holiday cheer carried a blatantly political agenda. He pedaled up to the carolers’ post with a stack of papers, and handed one to each of the singers.<\/p>\n

“Try it out! I usually sell them for $5, but now I’m giving them away for free,”\u009d he said. “You can even try to make copies and sell them yourself!”\u009d<\/p>\n

The Clog took a pamphlet, which was titled “The Official Impeach Bush and Cheney Christmas Carol Songster.”\u009d There was a blurb inside that also encouraged readers to make copies and sell the songster “\u201da handout of revised Christmas carol lyrics that included “We’re Dreaming of a Free Country,”\u009d “Oh, Come All Ye Faithless,”\u009d and “It’s Beginning to Be Time for Impeachment.”\u009d<\/p>\n

No, we have no idea why it was worth $5, or what’s supposed to happen with the money.
\nWe’re betting it usually goes toward weed, chalupas and future $20,000 Beach Impeach endeavors.<\/p>\n

We miss the good old days when this season was purely about consumerism, goodwill toward men, and listening to WHAM! on repeat. Hopefully, there are other lively Lennys, Lous, and Davids in this city to fill the spirit-deprived masses with genuine holiday cheer”\u201dif not, then brace yourselves. Impeachment songs are coming to town.
