I read with sorrow the column written by Amy Galvez regarding Mayor Rocky Anderson (Opinion, March 4). In no way is Rocky Anderson criticizing the job that her son and other young men and women have done in Iraq. What she doesn’t seem to understand is that her son’s life was lost because of a maniacal, warmongering man who just happened to be commander-in-chief when her son was of military age.
\n Rocky recently gave a speech in Washington state regarding the possible impeachment of George Bush. This movement should have been started shortly after the lies and deceptions regarding Iraq were uncovered, possibly ending the war and saving the life of the Galvez boy.
\n Our country is extremely vulnerable due to the actions of Mr. Bush. He has created such hate for the United States that we will surely continue to have terrorism on our shores.
\n The United States, under any commander, has no business trying to rule the world. The Iraqi people do not understand our democratic way of life, just as we do not understand their culture. Thousands upon thousands of innocent Iraqi people have died due to the actions of George Bush.<\/p>\n
