Blumenauer, DeFazio want AG impeached
WASHINGTON (AP) – Oregon congressmen Earl Blumenauer and Peter DeFazio say they will support a measure that directs the House Judiciary Committee to investigate whether to impeach Attorney General Alberto Gonzales.
Democrats and some Republicans have accused Gonzales of helping President Bush exploit executive power at the expense of civil liberties and possibly beyond the law on an array of matters including secretive surveillance.
