The Wednesday Tulsa, Oklahoma Peace and Impeachment Candle-Light Vigil was a resounding success! Below is a short report on the event, sent to the media today. The Tulsa World posted a picture and caption of the group along with the story “State playing big role in Iraq”. Even better, at the Tulsa World online site, there is a very nice video
covering the event. Look in the Web Extra section or go to link below.

Local Group Protests War, Demands Impeachment

By Mark Manley, ImpeachOk1.org — Wednesday night Tulsa area patriots assembled on Utica Ave in front of Senator Jim Inhofe’s office to protest five years of death and destruction in Iraq and request impeachment of president Bush and vice-president Cheney. With news that over 70 Oklahomans and nearly 4,000 Americans have died in this mistaken war and that the cost of war is bankrupting the USA, people want a change. Starting at 7 PM, about 30 protesters gathered with signs, costumes and a giant Dick Cheney puppet to remind traffic of the terrible toll. When one reporter asked his opinion of the war, Tulsa native Mark Manley responded, “We invaded a country that hadn’t and couldn’t possibly harm us. We have imposed our values and killed between 100,000 and one million Iraqi’s. The killing needs to stop.” Tulsa area residents have been very active in protesting the war and those who led us into it.
