Rep. Leonard Boswell (D-IA) cosigns 333 to Impeach Cheney

boswell.jpgIowa Representative Leonard Boswell quietly added his name as the 25th cosigner of House Resolution 333 on Valentine’s Day, February 14th, joining the rising call for the impeachment of Vice President Richard B. Cheney.

Boswell is the first name added this year, as the most recent Representative to add her name was Wisconsin’s Gwen Moore, who signed on December 19th.

Representative Boswell is a member of the powerful House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence – the primary committee in the U.S. House of Representatives charged with the oversight of the United States Intelligence Community.

Boswell’s signing may be indicative of Congress beginning to shift in the direction of holding the Vice President and other Bush Administration officials more strictly accountable for the 935 lies documented by The Center for Public Integrity during their heavy push to war prior to the invasion and occupation of Iraq.

  1. The strategy to impeach Cheney first is a good one. It ends the “If we impeach Bush we get Cheney” nonsense, and any evidence that incriminates Cheney does the same to Bush, most likely.

  2. We need all those that signed the Wexler letter to co-sign H.R. 333. Signing on to HR 333 is the key. Signing the letter is good but Signing HR 333 IS MUCH BETTER!!!

  3. Boswell’s signature, whatever the reason is, is a good thing.
    What about impeaching Bush too?
And impeachement should be just a start.
All these criminals should be judged for their crimes.
Don’t forget all the neocons traitors who escaped the sinking ship either.
Wolfowitz, Rove, Rumsfeld, Bolton, Perle, Scooter, Alberto, etc, etc… ad nauseam.

  4. Boswell’s signature is a product of the fact that a very popular and very progressive candidate has announced he will be challenging Boswell in the upcoming primary. Nothing more.
