‘IMPEACH’ Banner unfurled at S.F. Giants Baseball Game

Ted Rheingold’s web journal

Last night at the Giant’s game, as the National Anthem began some unidentified people urfurled a banner about 14 feet long and 5 feet high that simply said IMPEACH. They were up in the walkway above the bleachers so the majority of the fans could have seen it, though it would have been easy enough to miss.

Within a minute, stadium people were on the scene and the banner was taken down.

I took a picture on my camera phone which isn’t great, but good enough.

  1. Impeach Bush, jail Cheney. Nothing has changed since this ordeal began with W sitting on vacation while the Towers were hit.
He had only been on the job eight months, and he was already on vacation.
Good to see the comments above, it shows the right wingers are the ones who buy seats at ATT Park and grumble silently.
I never sat next to a moron such as “Pro Life” or a lackey such as, “You don’t know shit”, at a ball game, and I have been to 26 parks in the big leagues. On top of that, I have been a fan at games from all levels since 1958.
The National Anthem is part of our deal. What better time to tip the mass media on its deaf ear?
A true patriot speaks up when the country is off course. If you cannot see that this nation has been out of whack since 2000, just continue to do your “Limbaughesque” internet thing, and we will put the banners up, speak truth to power, and get this country back in the USA before you can say John McCain.

You have been brushed back. Don’t come in my kitchen, cause you can’t hit!

  2. Proudly pro-death,

    In the following statement:

It is YOU and your friends here are the ones pushing the foolish idea that the President should be impeached, so the burden of proof is on ALL OF YOU — not on ME — to provide evidence to support that action. No, I didn’t read anything said, authored, or supported by Dennis Kucinich. Nothing he says, writes, or supports is worthy of anyone’s time. His entire belief system is unattached from reality.”

you make perfectly clear how you are stuck in your ignorance.

You have a death grip on your calcified opinons, claim it is up to us to prove our claims, then reveal that YOU REFUSE TO READ THE EVIDENCE THAT HAS BEEN CLEARLY AND COMPREHENSIVELY PUBLISHED.

I am sorry, we can’t help you if you refuse to help yourself.

  3. Im tired of you little uneducated people making opinions about something you know NOTHING ABOUT!!!!!! You cant get your news for Michael Moore!!! How simple minded can you people be?? Reading these comments it makes it pretty obvious! No body sees all the good stuff we are doing over there, and this is coming from a military person so i have been there, Have you?? im guessing not! So keep watchcing your MTV and your Michael Moore movies and shut up! YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT YOUR TALKING ABOUT!! stick to cartoons or something more simple minded!!!

[Editor’s note: This is another fine example of someone expressing strong opinions with nothing to back them up. No sources, no links, no information, no evidence… nothing at all. Our site is full of thousands of hours of reading resources for those who have the intelligence and interest in the truth. Unfortunatel, as exemplified by this commenter, many either don’t have any interest in or don’t have the mental capacity to learn the truth.]

    A Patriots Message
The hammer falls on the Constitution of the United States of America. Our freedom and Democracy, our sovereignty as a nation is coming to an end.
The politically appointed neoconservatives in Justice sneer at Habius Corpus, Geneva Convention, worker, consumer and investor protection, education, affirmative action, individual rights and “entitlements” like Social Security and health care.
The corporate neo-con conspirators (Establishment) have their own agenda of a New World Order, W.T.O, N.A.F.T.A, immigration, globalization and “free trade”, military seizure of foreign oil fields, employing a private army of mercenaries and propagandist, “dealing” with Afghanistan Opium drug lords harboring Osama Bin Laden and financing Al Qaeda.
The ideal corporate model is “Communism” where individual freedom and democracy are mute. The board of directors rule. The corporate neo-cons hate our regulatory government, Constitution and Individual Rights.
Our Federal Government is purposely bankrupt by war/trade debt and the ideal corporate nation, China, are carrying trillions of dollars of our debt. Communist China and their junior corporate American partner’s technically own U.S.A. – hence, “Globalization” and loss of sovereignty. Mission accomplished. The surge strategy is not to win the war but to pump oil and further indebt U.S.A to Communist China. Patriots, sign on! Impeach Bush, Cheney and nullify their Supreme Court appointments!

  6. Pro-Life…You would not know a ‘high crimes or Misdemeanor’ if it came up and bit you on the a%%! Abrogration of signed treaties about prisoners rights, lying about many aspects of the reasons to go to war in Iraq, starting a pre-emptive or agressive war, as opposed to defensive one, (a war crime in itself), the indiscriminate use of what all countries except ours recognize as a WMD, (DU). Outing an undercover CIA agent by Cheney, authorizing torture and rendition in direct violation of existing military law…the list is longer every day. Now this commutation, before Libby spent a day in jail, so he won’t spill the beans when faced with actually PAYING for his crimes. Signing statements that amount to a line-item veto, even when that’s been ruled against before by the supreme court. And how about warrantless wiretapping, already admitted to by Bush.Cheney, AND already ruled a felony by the courts??

So much more, if you would just actually do some reading for a change, and stop listening to ‘wrong-wing radio’ pundits like Hannity, Limbaugh or O’Reilly

  7. Michael,

His entire belief system is unattached from reality.

Please try to FOCUS (if possible) on supporting the entire reason this website exists. Explain for your critics when and how this President and/or Vice-President has ever committed:

    1. Treason, or

    2. Bribery, or

    3. Other high crimes or

    4. Misdemeanors.

Remember, anything short of Article II, Sec. 4 doesn’t qualify for impeachment. I’m dying for your (firmly rooted in logic, evidence and fact) answers.

  8. Proudly Pro-Life,

Does your ‘pro-life’ stance include supporting the use of depleted uranium in our weapons that are melting the faces, arms and limbs of Iraqi children for generations, not to mention destroying the health of thousands of American service men and women?

There is plenty of reason to impeach. Those of us who have read the Constitution AND the Military Commissions Act (have you read it?) know that there are aspects of that Act that specifically were inserted to retroactively protect Bush and Cheney from not only impeachment but criminal prosecution after the Supreme Court ruled against their unlawful and un-Constitutional torture and detainment policies.

Your post did nothing to dispute the Articles of Impeachment against Vice President Cheney currenlty sitting in the House Judiciary Committee – and recenlty forwarded to a sub-committee for consideration. Would you like to discuss the relative merits of each of the articles as submitted by Rep. Dennis Kucinich and cosigned by ten representatives so far?

    Probably not.

It is so much easier to remain uninformed and name call instead.

  9. If any of these S.F. liberals actually read the Constitution they claim to defend, they’d know there is no basis for impeachment. Zero. None. This is just one more example of whiny children of hippies clinging to ANYTHING to get their power back, even if that includes smearing a President. Get some ideas (The Communist Manifesto doesn’t count), win some elections, and grow the @#$% up.

  10. that baseball player in the picture is freakin’ huge! like out of a video game.

  11. This is a true terrorist, a war criminal and a baby killer that we are talking about people. Wake up! This man and his crooked staff needs to be tried and hung (yes hung on the white house lawn for all to see. We need to make an example of what becomes of evil men who rape the world to fill their pocked. Damn then all.

Out here we are praying for assasination…..

  12. WTF President Bush?!? I helped put that banner up– we were talking about Brian Sabean! The grassroots movement to have Armando Benitez was so successful, that we’re thinking bigger and bigger now! Who cares about Bush’s theocrat lies, I’m just glad we’re able to effect change in the bullpen without resorting to violence or other armed conflict.

Who do you think was behind Barry making the All-Star team? All the mess in 2000 was child’s play compared to mass-punching all-star ballots. We learned our lessons and Left No Chad Behind!

  13. In response to NTC-Brendan’s comment number 8, there is no better time than during the singing of “OUR NATIONAL FREAKIN’ ANTHEM” to defend and support “OUR NATIONAL FREAKIN’ CONSTITUTION”.

  14. Excellent..lol, nice subversive message – harnessing the power of sports covered media to distribute a message.

  15. I am all for political discourse, believing it to be a healthy and necessary out and catalyst for change and improvement. Perhaps better judgment could be used and not using OUR NATIONAL FREAKIN’ ANTHEM as as time for a political PSA.

But then again, this is SF we are talking about.

  16. Bob Aol,

If you think it is “photoshoped”, then contact the man who took the picture and posted it on his blog and ask him.

Do you really think it is such a stretch that a group of San Franciscans would be for impeachment?

    MIkael

  17. Too bad it was taken down. I like how I see at least five advertisement banners, too…
