Rep. Grijalva Becomes 23rd Impeachment Bill Co-sponsor

LarouchePac.com — Rep. Raul M. Grijalva (D-AZ) became the 23rd Congressman to co-sponsor the resolution (H.R. 799, formerly H.R. 333) introduced by Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-OH) to impeach Vice President Dick Cheney. Grijalva, who represents the 7th Congressional District in Arizona, embracing Tucson and Nogales, is the son of a Mexican migrant worker. He is the 2nd Vice Chair of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus. According to the Library of Congress, Rep. Grijalva added his name on Dec. 5.

He is the first Congressman to join the effort to impeach Cheney since Kucinich raised the resolution on the floor of the House of Representatives and it was referred to the Judiciary Committee for consideration.

Although, as Lyndon LaRouche has stated, the recent National Intelligence Estimate that Iran abandoned its nuclear weapons program in 2003 has made it more difficult for Cheney to launch an attack on Iran, as long as Cheney remains in office the danger still exists that a major staged incident could still provide the pretext Cheney so desperately desires for sabotaging the peace process supported by LaRouche, which took a step forward at Annapolis.

“If the Government wants the people to respect the laws, they should set a better example”

  2. Jeff, any source that actually reports the truth will be considered here. Is Lyndon LaRouche more or less trustworthy than Bill O’Reilly? Sean Hannity? Paula Zahn for that matter?

  3. You’re quoting Lyndon LaRouche? That scares me almost as much as Cheney does. I think that there are actual sane people out there pointing out that Cheney is a danger to America that you could have quoted.

  4. I agree. January 27th, 2009 is not too late to impeach. As long as they are impeached. I prefer earlier but as long as they are impeacched. The Democrats will use the fact that January 2009 is only a short time away as an excuse.

  5. Alex,

I read the entire article that you posted. I couldn’t disagree more. At risk of being attacked by blind Zionist loyalists, Obadiah Shoher’s position is completely untenable. There are plenty of times where “peace process” has been effective; South Africa one that comes immediately to mind. I fully support the Jewish nation’s right to safety and sovereignty, but I support the right of Palestinian children to grow up in peace and safety as well.

  6. All the real reasons to impeach have nothing to do with political expediency and everything to do with denying this horrible precedent being set. January 27th, 2009 is not too late to impeach. In fact – there is no law or rule in place that prevents a retroactive impeachment from taking place. The point is exactly as Rich Owen states above. DO NOT let these criminals profit in any way from their destruction.

  7. Well………….. let’s keep this alive, A man steals from his employer, gets caught and you say awww “let him finish out the week”. NO way, Impeach now, Dick should not finish out his term and receive his benefits, then write a book. Impeach Dick Cheney Now

  8. And what do you think of Obadiah Shoher’s arguments against the peace process ( samsonblinded.org/blog/we-need-a-respite-from-peace.htm )?

  9. Everyone loves Ron Paul but he has taken No action to Impeach Bush or Cheney. He did not
    co-sponsor this bill!

  10. This Impeachment will die in committee for 2007, just like all other bills. It will need to be re-introduced in 2008 by any member of the Congress. Time is running out and they will use the excuse that Bush will soon be out of office as a reason to do nothing. Will Dennis introduce this in 2008?

  11. At this pace we may have Cheney impeached by 2356!!!

But seriously, it is wonderful to be able to add one more name to those of the other true patriots who have signed on to this bill.
