Impeachment for Trump’s Secretary of State, Rex Tillerson

Federal officers are in a position to abuse the public trust, and so the founders ensured that federal officers could be held accountable by putting impeachment in the Constitution. This process has been used to successfully impeach a federal judge in Missouri. The U.S. Constitution stipulates that the impeachment process applies to “The President, Vice President, and all civil officers of the United States.” Indeed, this includes Rex Tillerson.

It invokes the same rule of the House of Representatives that the Missouri citizen used when impeaching that federal judge (Judge James Peck).
