Peach of the Week: Jan

Filed under: "Peach" of the Week — Mikael @ 2:35 pm

It was very reassuring to know that we were sending Jan to be our representative to the national meeting in New York City and Kalamazoo, knowing she would garner respect and build strong relationships with other chapters for us. A consistent contributor and attender of meetings and events since joining us, Jan grounds and healthily balances the more energetic and talkative members such as myself with her patient, steady demeanor and her calm wisdom. I look forward to reading more of her writing as it emerges out of her participation in this movement.

  1. Way to go, Jan! I am looking forward to getting to know you better.

  2. I have been amazed/impressed at Jan’s willingness twice now to commit on very short notice to long-distnace trips to attend these national/regional meetings. Speaking as someone who is loath to sacrifice precious weekend time to any pursuits other than rexlaxing at home & working on my own projects, Jan’s commitment to the cause, I fear, often puts my own to shame.

    Yay Jan!

  3. Kalamazoo as in Michigan? If there is a Michigan chapter I would love more information on it…

    (from the editor):

    Stephanie,

There are chapters all over the country. Check out: http://www.worldcantwait.org under the heading “chapters” and you’ll find the following:

    Michigan

    Detroit

    Grand Rapids
    [email protected]

    Ann Arbor

If you know anyone in any of these areas, please contact them and encourage them to get involved!!

If you know anyone in any other parts of the country who want to step up and make a difference, have them check the site and get to know their local organizers of World Can’t Wait–Drive Out the Bush Regime!

We are the ones we have been waiting for.

  5. Thank you, Mikael, for choosing me as “Peach of the Week.” And thanks, also, to those who commented. I would just like to add, though, that even if I give the appearance of beinc calm and steady, most of my friends would also consider me very energetic. I think my biggest difficulty is trying to cram too many things into my life, but I strongly believe in living life to its fullest. Peace out!!

  6. I can’t think of anyone more deserving. I really look forward to co-hosting the Impeach For Peace party with her. And yes jan i can tell you have alot of energy. You seem to always be so busy..I don’t know how you do it. The energy i get off of jan is that she is so accepting of everyone..I don’t think she has a judgemental bone in her body. Jan’ quite a “peach” I must say.
