SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) — Monica Goodling, a top aide to Attorney General Alberto Gonzales, has resigned, according to a media report on Friday. “I am hereby submitting my resignation to the office of attorney general,” Goodling said in a three-sentence letter, according to the Associated Press. Goodling, senior counsel to Gonzales, had previously asserted the Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination in her refusal to testify about her role in the firings of federal prosecutors.
