A group of House Democrats will introduce a resolution calling on the Judiciary Committee to begin impeachment proceedings against Attorney General Alberto Gonzales.
Rep. Jay Inslee (D-WA) will sponsor the measure. It will be dropped in the hopper tomorrow.
It’s too early to say whether it will actually get anywhere.
Here’s the text of resolution…
RESOLUTION
Directing the Committee on the Judiciary to investigate whether Alberto R. Gonzales, Attorney General of the United States, should be impeached for high crimes and
misdemeanors.
1 Resolved, That the Committee on the Judiciary shall
2 investigate fully whether sufficient grounds exist for the
3 House of Representatives to impeach Alberto R. Gonzales,
4 Attorney General of the United States, for high crimes
5 and misdemeanors.

I WONDERRED WHO COULD BE SO BLIND. AT THE THE NEXT LIGHT WE STOPPED NEXT TO EACH OTHER, HE LOOKED OVER AND ASKED ” WHO ARE YOU GOING TO VOTE FOR HILARY ? I SAID ” NO JUST ANOTHER PUPPET LIKE BUSH, AND AS YOU CAN SEE I DO NOT WANT ANY ONE WHO LIES TO START WAR TO HAVE ANY PART IN OUR GOVERNMENT”. THE GENTLEMEN THAN SAID ” DUDE MY THUMBS DOWN WAS NOT BECAUSE I DISAGREE BUT BECAUSE ITS A USELESS ATTEMPT. THEY ARE ALL LIARS EVERYONE OF THEM”. THE LIGHT CHANGED TO GREEN. BUT HE STAYED STOPPED TO HEAR MY REPLY.
MY REPLY WAS: I HAVE NO DELUSIONS. BUT THESE TWO TRAITORS MUST GO FOR THEIR TO BE AN Y HOPE. MY DAD ALWAYS SAID IF YOU ARE OUT NUMBERRED IN A FIGHT, FIRST KNOW THAT YOU ARE ON THE SIDE OF RIGHT. IF YOU ARE THAN PICK OUT THE BIGEST ONE AND HIT HIM SO HARD THAT HE GOES DOWN. AND THAN THE NEXT BIGGEST ONE. CHANCES ARE YOU WILL NOT HAVE TO FIGHT THEM ALL. THE OTHERS SEEING THE BIGGYS GO DOWN MAY JUST CURB THEIR AGENDA AND NOT MESS WITH YOU”. I WANT BUSH AND CHENEY IMPEACHED AND PROSECUTED WITH AS MANY CONTINUE AS MAY CONTINUE TO USE OUR TAX DOLLARS AGAINST US OR STEAL OUR DEMOCRACY FOR THEIR OWN GREEDY PURPOSES. AS HE DROVE OFF HE SAID IT WOULD BE A GRAT DAY BUT I’LL BELIEVE IT WHEN I SEE IT. SO TO CONGRESS I SAY YOUR IGNORRANT SPENDING TIME ON THE LITTLE GUYS LIKE GONZALES. YOU ALREADY HAVE PROOF BUSH AND CHENEY LIED TO THIS WHOLE NATION TO TAKE US TO WAR.
THAT ALONE IS MORE THAN ENOUGH REASON TO IMPEACH. IMPEACH AND PROSECUTE WITH NO CHANCE OF PARDON. TAKE DOWN THESE TWO TRAITORS WITH NO CHANCE OF PARDON AND THEY WILL BRING WITH THEM MANY MORE, BECAUSE THEY ARE COWARDS , COWARDS LIE TO GET OTHERS TO FIGHT THEIR BATTLES, AND COWARDS DO NOT LIKE TO HANG ALONE! Articles of impeachment have already been submitted for Bush and Cheney. Can’t we get some economy here and do a 3fer
If they grudgingly have to give up another scapegoat, they will.
But Bush, Cheney & Rove will never have to answer for their crimes.
Quit celebrating, y’all. All that’ll happen is Gonzalez will resign while Congress is in recess. Bush then appoints anyone he wants, and because it’s a recess appointment, they won’t be subject to confirmation hearings. Afterward, if Congress tries to question Gonzalez, he’ll invoke the Fifth Amendment. Bush et al suck, but they’re smarter than our side. My fuggin’ head hurts….

doesnt matter whether the dems have the votes or not, what impeachment process does is force the media to cover the process. thats where joe sixpack becomes informed for the fitst time of all the attrocities being committed in their names by the monsters in the bush misadministration
It’s about time. I want Bush and Cheney impeached before they cause anymore disasters! We need impeachment to reclaim our Constitution and our democracy. I hope impeachment proceedings against Gonzales will help unequivocally expose Bush and Cheney. PLEASE, Speaker Pelosi, exercise the power of the House of Representatives.
Ray Biasella is right. BBC Radio 4 just did a documentary supporting the plot against FDR. The documents from US archives specifically name Prescott Bush. You can hear it over the internet. It’s a shame the U.S. media won’t expose this family for the treasonous people they are.
Everything George W. Bush is doing is fulfilling this plot. Right-wing “talking points” all across the country are rewriting history in an attempt to deny the successes of Franklin Roosevelt’s New Deal–as groundwork to undo it.

With ALL of the attacks on our Constitutional Representative Republic, it would appear that, not only was/is Mr. Bush a business partner with the Bin Laden family, but neither seem to like the freedoms of the USA. If the early reports are correct, that uncovered information from early FDR’s administration, 43’s grandfather, 41’s father, Prescott Bush, planned to replace FDR with a fascist government….. Is GWB trying to fulfill his grandfather’s plan, and/or make sure our Democracy is sufficiently damaged, to allow the plan? I believe that the House needs to STOP nibbling at the edges, and START PROCEEDINGS TO IMPEACH BOTH MR. BUSH, and MR. CHENEY…. ALL of the excuses as to why the HOUSE can’t or WON’T, are just that, EXCUSES….
