Filmmaker, war vet arrested as Army deserter

A film producer and veteran of Iraq and Afghanistan who backed a movie about alleged conspiracy theories behind Sept. 11 was arrested for deserting the 101st Airborne Division two years ago, military officials said Friday.
Korey Rowe, 24, a private in the Fort Campbell, Ky.-based division, was arrested in Oneonta, N.Y., and returned to Kentucky despite claiming to have been honorably discharged.
Military officials at Fort Campbell on Friday said Rowe was arrested by the Otsego County Sheriff’s Department in Cooperstown, N.Y., earlier this week and returned to his unit.
Rowe, a veteran of tours to Afghanistan and Iraq with the 101st, helped produce the movie “Loose Change,” which alleges a government conspiracy behind 9/11.

He’s too well known for that to happen. They need a story, like they did with Tillman:
Lie #1: Killed by enemy fire.
Lie #2: Killed by ‘friendly fire’ during a raid.
Truth: Tillman was murdered. Shot three times at close range. There was no firefight. The proximity of the three bullet wounds in Tillman’s head showed that it could not have happened all at once. The first bullet hitting would have sent him flying.
The second and third shots look like they were confirmation shots “just to be sure”.
Only question remaining: Was it ‘fragging’ by a resentful platoon mate or a political assassination to keep Tillman from coming home to speak out against the war he had come to understand was based upon lies and to speak out against the Bush Administration who he had come to understand had lied to Congress and the American people to initiate this long-planned war of aggression, imperialism and economic opportunism.
