Profile: RICHARD GERE GOES ON A ‘HUNTING PARTY’
The Actor/Activist gets political as a reporter again in the new action-thriller
By PAMELA HARLAND, Managing Editor
It’s no secret Gere’s disdain for President Bush and without trying to turn his promotional tour into an impeach Bush campaign, Gere tiptoes through the relevance between his film and America’s current status in the world today. Noting that although highly publicized to the contrary, Americans are not considered the enemies in the Middle East
“The native intelligence know there’s a difference between George Bush and America,” explains Gere. “Everyone loves America. They love American culture. Everyone distrusts and loathes George Bush. So I can’t argue with that. Although George Bush has done a few good things mostly about HIV/AIDS.”
Still, Gere has a hard time just blaming one man for the turmoil and criticism our country has found ourselves in lately. He lays some of the blame right in our own laps.
