Wexler Calling for Cheney Impeachment on House Floor Tonight

This evening, I am taking the floor of the House of Representatives to strongly reassert my call for hearings on the Articles of Impeachment of Vice President Cheney previously introduced by Dennis Kucinich.

Please watch it on CSPAN – I should be taking the floor tonight after the last vote, between 7-9PM Eastern.

Tomorrow, I will deliver a letter to my colleagues on the Judiciary Committee, encouraging them to sign on to a letter in support of Cheney impeachment hearings to Chairman Conyers.

This is a critical point in the impeachment movement. Congress is very much aware of what we’re doing ““ thanks in part to your letters and calls ““ but there is much work to be done.

We must enforce the outstanding subpoenas and begin to question key witnesses. Impeachment will break through Executive Privilege and allow us to cut through the diversions and obstruction that has occurred these last months.

Over the next days, please take a moment to let your representative know your feelings about Impeachment and ask them to support our efforts. Please also call the media outlets and urge them to cover this movement.

  1. Rep. Wexler, in the event that you keep up this nonsense you must immediately call for an investigation of the man who said the following. What an animal! “Without question, we need to disarm Saddam Hussein.   2. I can say something that most people in the country cannot about Wexler. He is my Congressman, I am his constituency, I live in the region of Florida that he purportedly represents, and he does not properly represent my views on this issue. Get on with the appropriate business of the people. Typical Democrat second guessing those who exhibited strong leadership at a time when it was desparately needed in spite of what the armchair sideline sitting average joe in a poll thinks.

I think Grimascent meant to say “full support of patriotic Americans who are able to think and understand the full magnitude of the unmitigated, unprecedented, and horrific national and international disaster of foreign and domestic policy inflicted upon this proud country”.

  5. David: For arguements sake, let’s replace the words “full support” with “majority support”, which Mr. Wexler DOES have from the American populace at large. There, does that make you feel better? Or are you the 1 out of 5 Americans who still believes in Bush & Cheney?

No, he is NOT just another fringe liberal whining and crying “because the grown-ups are too busy taking care of business.” There is an outcry of support for the impeachment of both Cheney and Bush. The American government works because of its checks and balances. The country is in very much on the downhill both on the domestic and the foreign scales. To impeach Cheney and Bush would send a message to the world that we are not the arrogant fools they perceive us to be. Sorry to break it to you, but this isn’t the 1950’s; people are over the fact that we came to the rescue in WWII. This man reflects the views of very many American citizens. Grimascent did not say full support, he said just about full support, and Bush’s current 29% approval rating shows some of that support. The Presidency is not a kingship and impeachment has been put in place to ensure it does not become that.
