The day after colleague Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-OH) introduced a bill on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives to impeach President George W. Bush, bill cosigner Rep. Robert Wexler (D-FL) also became the 27th cosigner of H. Res. 333 calling for the impeachment of Vice President Richard Cheney.
Wexler’s name was the first added to H. Res. 333 since March, when Rep. Pete Stark (D-CA) signed on.
Kucinich’ comprehensive 35-count resolution took nearly five hours to be read into the Congressional Record – first by Kucinich on Monday and then by House clerks on Tuesday – both broadcast live on C-SPAN.
Inexplicably, the national media has virtually ignored the Bush Impeachment resolution this week, with no mention of it in major newspapers and on national television across the land – with the exception of MSNBC’s Keith Olbermann, who featured it as the lead story on his program, “Countdown” on Tuesday night: https://impeachforpeace.org/impeach_bush_blog/?p=5392>[Video] Olbermann on Bush Impeachment

This country is suffering a constitutional crisis that has only occurred one other time in my life: Nixon.
It is true that the McCarthy era was very frightening and we pulled out of that, it is also a horrible truth that 100,000 Japanese Americans were interred during the Second World War, but we pulled out of that one too.
So we have recovered from unconstitutional moves by politicians in the past. How will we pull out of this one? The Bill of Rights is in shambles. This is not a partisan issue, this is a democratic (small “d”) issue. How do we restore the balance of powers that made this country a beacon to others??
Impeachment is the only cure for the dire straights in which we find ourselves. Congress needs to take it’s oath to protect the constitution very seriously and set aside political fears. They are charged with protecting a document which means very little at this point. Please, please fix this now.
Why waste the time to try and impeach the moron. His time is so short it would have little effect on matters. It would be better to put your effort into supporting Obama and doing things that might get him elected.
What about Ron Paul? He complains about Bush yet has taken NO action to Impeach Bush. He takes people’s political money but does not represent the people. I agree Wexler could do more but at least he took some action. My representative has done nothing. I pay taxes for NO Representation. He does not respond to my emails and letters.
What has Wexler really done for the two impeachment cases? Sure, he has made a few speeches and put out a book (which will make him plenty of money) but why hasn’t he introduced legislation of his own? Co-signing a bill doesn’t take that much, not nearly as much as writing the bill (s) and reading the bill (s)! I don’t understand why Wexler gets all the fame without any of the real work it takes to write the bill. Apparently he was too busy writing his own book to be bothered with writing legislation to bring our country back to the people.
The other 25 co-signers should speak out as a group. Power is in Numbers!!
These two wonderful men have done so much to put Impeachment on the Table. There are 433 other members of congress that could help them. It is not fair for 2 representatives to do all the work. They have done a great job.
