Was there a White House plot to illegally suppress votes in 2004? Is there a similar plan for the upcoming elections? This week NOW examines documents and evidence that points to a Republican Party plan designed to keep Democrats from voting, allegedly by targeting people based on their race and ethnicity with key battleground states like Ohio and Florida of particular interest. “It was a partisan, discriminatory attempt to challenge voters of color,” Eddie Hailes, a senior attorney for The Advancement Project, a civil rights group, told NOW.

  1. You are welcome.

Thank you for everything you are doing as well.

If we can help promote and publicize any of your efforts, or if you would like to submit anything for consideration to be published on our site, let us know!

  2. Good to hear.
I agree completely that these “acts” threaten our constitutional rights.
I was just concerned by the tone set by declaring that the military “has the power to pull the plug” on the government. It was a provocative statement hinting at military intervention in a manner that I am completely uncomfortable with (I don’t think the military would be any more democratic than the Bush/Cheney crew). Whether the other posters intended their comments to be read that way is another point entirely.
We should be careful not to look to saviors that might make things worse than they already are.
There is no easy way out of this situation aside from rigorous organizing of the people of this country… Something this website contributes to. Thank you for that.

  3. “It is impeachment that we should push for, not a coup”

We of ImpeachforPeace couldn’t agree more.

If impeachment does not occur and Bush’s ‘Enabling Acts’: Patriot Acts I & II, the Military Commissions Act, etc., are all fully brought to bear upon our citizenry, it may be too late to impeach. These heinous acts collectively, if enforced, take every single right away from you and I. The Constitution is de facto DOA. We have no rights anymore.

A military coup d’etat, hoever, is too horrible an option to contemplate.

  4. While I agree that this administration is damaging any facade of democracy left in our government, I am shocked by those previous commenters who have alluded to the military’s power to “pull the plug” on this administration. Shame on whoever thinks this is a positive option. A military coup is not an acceptable alternative. Never. It is as shameful to call for a military coup as it is to rig the electoral system to exclude african american voters. We need to find the democratic and civilian solution. It is in the law. It is impeachment that we should push for, not a coup.

  5. The military has the power to pull the plug on this illegal, immoral administration, but do they have the balls? Or, a better question might be, do they AGREE with this illegal, immoral administration???

  6. “Our United States Government (The Bush Crime Cartel) is going to create another terrorist attack just like the 9/11 atrocity they had their fingers in the last time.”

I fear exactly the same thing.

Will our security and military tolerate this bullshit a second time?

  7. Our United States Government (The Bush Crime Cartel) is going to create another terrorist attack just like the 9/11 atrocity they had their fingers in the last time.

Or, they are going to sabotage the (NEW) electronic voting machine process so it will be a win/win situation for the GOP no matter who you vote for.

America is going to get the big hurt once again!

I’m afraid it’s not over yet.
