Impeachment Information Forum: MCAM Manchester, NH

Brookline, NH – NH State Representative Betty Hall will be the featured panelist at the last in a series of informative forums centered on our Constitution. The forum entitled, “Defending Our Constitution: Let’s All Come Up For AIR—Accountability, Impeachment and Responsibility” will be carried live in the Manchester Community Access Media (MCAM) TV 23 studio in Manchester, 540 North Commercial Street at 7:30pm-9:30pm, Tuesday, March 18.

Joining Representative Hall will be John Kaminski, chairman for Maine Lawyers for Democracy; former US Senate candidate in 2006, Jean Hay Bright; current candidate for US Senate in Maine, Herbert Hoffman; Newfane, Vt. Selectman, Dan DeWalt; and US Congressman Dennis Kucinich via live connection.

All interested citizens as well as other State Representatives are encouraged to become part of the studio audience which will include a Q & A session for the second hour for the group of panelists as well as a live update on impeachment information from US Congressman Dennis Kucinich.

Representative Hall has recently introduced HR24 calling for the NH House to consider commencing impeachment hearings of President Bush and Vice-President Cheney to the US Congress. If the NH House should vote to pass the petition it would represent the first state to bring the request directly to that representative body. The vote on the petition will be brought before the NH House later this month.

If passed, the request would immediately be sent to the US Congress without NH Senate deliberation or the need of the signature of NH Governor Lynch, since the vote represents the direct voice of those indicating a strong enough concern to start an inquiry.

Hall’s petition, HR24, is utilizing Jefferson’s Manual, Section 603 to allow a State Legislature to represent the will of the people when an abuse of power is suspected, and the US Congress has failed to act.

The timely nature of the Hall petition comes amid the resignation of Eliot Spitzer, Governor of NY, while he was investigating Wall Street improprieties involving bank fraud; the resignation of Admiral William Fallon, the military commander of US Middle East operations, over his directives of diplomacy instead of war with Iran; the extraordinary secret session of the US House this past week concerning the secret FISA and warrantless wiretapping bill and the ’60 Minutes’ CBS TV program revealing of some of the circumstances of former Alabama Governor Don Siegelman being jailed on questionable bribery charges as he was investigating election tampering.

Mr. DeWalt was instrumental in helping Brattleboro, Vt. citizens place a question on their ballot during their recent Primary of March 4, 2008 of whether to arrest Bush and Cheney if they were to visit the city. Not only did the ballot question pass, but there was also a call for Bush and Cheney to be indicted on war crimes. A similar resolution is being planned for Kennebunkport, Maine, where the Bush family maintains a summer residence.
